Review: Jacob Young releases well-crafted eponymous country EP (Includes first-hand account)

The six-track collection opens on a patriotic note with the outlaw-esque “American Way,” and it is followed by the upbeat and catchy “Whiskey Kiss,” which is this journalist’s personal favorite tune on the project.

His baritone vocals on his debut single “Better Than a Love Song” are soothing, and smooth as silk.

The love song “We Danced,” is dedicated to Young’s wife, while “Fool For You” is neo-traditional country at its finest. His EP closes with the mid-tempo and carefree tune “As Good as I Can Get It.”

Jacob Young’s EP is available on Amazon and on iTunes.

The Verdict

Overall, Jacob Young delivers on his self-titled country EP. It is warm, well-crafted and eclectic; moreover, it displays Young’s wide range as a country recording artist. There is something in it for everybody.

Young’s passion and love for country music are evident in this musical effort. Particularly impressive about Young is that he sounds just as good in a live setting as he does on this project. This EP garners an A rating.
