Episode seven of Isuca, titled “Light and Dark,” is currently streaming on Crunchyroll for paid subscribers. Free members can watch this same episode six days from now on March 13th.
This episode of Isuca has a comedic start when Shinichiro arrives home to see Tamako, completely naked, greet him. I am surprised that Shinichiro hasn’t bothered to “housebreak” Tamako yet since she is a cat spirit in a corporeal human form.
The idea of undergarments is new to Tamako and it shows that someone needs to teach her how to put on bras and panties.
Shinichiro lectures Tomako by telling her that it is wrong to take other people’s things without permission because it makes her a thief, but it is a funny situation because he inadvertently insults Sakuya’s bust size by saying that the bras wouldn’t fit Tomako.
At least there is one highlight to Shinichiro’s night, the acquisition of Yashaoh.
I am glad that Shinichiro finally has a weapon because he can physically assist Sakuya, Tamako, Suseri, and Kanae on the battlefield. I was getting sick and tired of him standing on the sidelines while the heroines had to do the “heavy lifting.”
The katana could not have come at a better time because the group is faced with a smoke spirit that sucks the life force out of anybody that breathes in the fumes.
Shinichiro manages to neutralize the smoke spirit, but passes out afterward.
I laughed when Kanae told Sakuya to give him CPR. Rhetorically asking, why the bloody f—k can’t Kanae give perform CPR on Shinichiro?! I find this to be a very lame excuse to make Shinichiro and Sakuya kiss each other.
Kanae is the one closest to Shinichiro and that means she should be the one, not Sakuya, performing CPR.
The episode was interesting, but that has to be the lamest scene ever. I didn’t even see Sakuya make the effort as she simply put her lips on Shinichiro’s mouth. Sakuya neither pressed on Shinichiro’s chest nor properly checked his pulse.
S—t hits the fan when the mysterious Western Mage, calls herself Isuca, and easily dispatches Suseri.
It is an interesting twist because Sakuya’s real name is Isuca and the Western Mage is calling herself Isuca, too. I have a theory that Isuca could be a split personality of Sakuya’s because of the former’s obsession with the latter.
The masked person that Isuca serves could possibly be Sakuya’s father. Sakuya said that her parents vanished several years ago. I found the ending interesting as Sakuya severed Isuca’s right arm and I wonder where the story goes from there.
I suspect that Sakuya and Isuca are connected.
