He began his set with “Tattoo” and immediately broke into his Top 15 breakthrough country single “Storm Warning,” prior to premiering his latest single “21.” Judging from the Long Island audience reaction, it is bound to be a hit for the Louisiana native.
It was followed by “Wild Card,” yet another track from his latest album Storyline, and took his fans on a trip down memory lane with “Somebody’s Heartbreak,” a chart-topping single off his debut studio album.
Green lights dimmed on the stage while he sang the mellow “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me,” and further asked the New York audience to help him out on this tune. His dedicated fulfilled his request and sang along with the country crooner. “Oh, you sound so good,” he praised the fans.
“Invisible” was an empowering moment in his set that resonated well with his audience, especially since he raised anti-bullying awareness on this poignant vocal.
The performance that was the highlight of the evening was his piano-driven ballad “Wanted,” which was soothing and heartfelt. Hayes’ falsetto was impressive on this love ballad.
Hayes displayed his wide range as an artist on “Love Makes Me” and he closed his well-received set with the upbeat and fun “I Want Crazy,” as the stage was graced in red lights, and Hayes rocked the electric guitar.

Overall, Hunter Hayes put on a high-energy concert at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater. He interacted well with the fans, and showcased his passion for his craft, which was infectious. For a 23-year-old country entertainer, Hayes is the epitome of talent. His show garnered an A rating.
