Review: Harriet Stubbs releases glorious breakthrough classical album (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with “Phrygian Gates,” featuring a narration from Marianne Faithful, and it is followed by an enthralling rendition of Mozart’s “Rondo in A Minor, K. 511” and “No. 10 in C-Sharp Minor.”

All of the songs are well-crafted, and each track has its own identity. Three-time Grammy winner Russ Titelman did a superb job on the album’s production. Some of the stand-outs on this collection include “I. Andante” and “Chaconne in D Minor, BV B 24.” Her CD’s closing track, “Études, Book 1: No. 5, Arc-en-ciel,” leaves her listeners yearning for classical more.

Heaven and Hell: The Doors of Perception is available on iTunes, and on Spotify.

The Verdict

Overall, Harriet Stubbs takes her fans on a musical journey on her latest pristine studio offering, Heaven and Hell: The Doors Of Perception. There is something in it for everything, and Stubbs is able to introduce classical music to a younger generation of listeners.

Her music evokes raw emotions, and it will certainly touch her audience on an emotional level. It is worth more than just a passing glance, especially due to its calming vibe. Grab a bottle of wine, and let Harriet Stubbs lure you in. This glorious album garners an A rating.
