Review: Gwen Sebastian soars on new sultry single ‘Quicksand’ (Includes first-hand account)

It is the follow-up to her previous single “Cadillac.” Both of these tunes are featured on her forthcoming studio album, Once Upon A Time In The West: Act I, which is slated to be released in mid-November.

Sebastian co-wrote “Quicksand” with Chris Harris (previously from Dale Ann Bradley’s band) and Terri Jo Box. The song is mid-tempo, bluesy and sultry, and it is definitely worth more than just a passing glance. It has a retro vibe to it, and she allows her crisp vocals (reminiscent of Ashley Monroe) to do all the talking. If the rest of her new album is anything like “Cadillac” or “Quicksand,” then her fans and listeners will be in for a real musical treat. “Quicksand” garners two thumbs up.

“Quicksand” by Gwen Sebastian is available on iTunes.
