Review: Gavin DeGraw excellent on new album ‘Something Worth Saving’ (Includes first-hand account)

The CD opens with the infectious single “She Sets The City On Fire,” and it is followed by the mid-tempo and bluesy “You Make My Heart Sing Louder.”

“Kite Like Girl” has a stunning acoustic melody, while “Making Love With The Radio On” is uplifting and mellow. “Harder To Believe” is another prime cut on the collection that has the potential to become a radio single in the future, and “Say I Am” is a sultry piano-driven ballad.

There is a lot of versatility on this project, with the groovy “How Lucky Can A Man Get,” while the mid-tempo “New Love” is a breath of fresh air. The album closes with the upbeat “Annalee,” which will make the listener clap along with him, as well as the moving title track ballad “Something Worth Saving,” where his melancholic vocals tugs at the heart.

The Verdict

Overall, Gavin DeGraw is back better than ever on his newest studio album, Something Worth Saving. He is one of the most underrated male artists in the contemporary music scene. The best part about DeGraw is that he sounds just as good at his live shows, if not better than the audio recordings. This album garners an A rating.
