Review: Gareth Emery heats up Marquee New York with electronic hits (Includes first-hand account)

Emery was able to set off the electronic music fireworks at Marquee New York, and it wasn’t even Memorial Day.

Several of his highlight songs included “Saving Light,” his glorious collaboration with Haliene, as well as “U,” “Sansa,” and “Long Way Home.” Of course, no Gareth Emery concert is complete without his signature tune “Concrete Angel,” and his remix of “Castle on The Hill” by global pop music star Ed Sheeran.

Emery proved to be the best and most underrated electronic music that is working in the contemporary electronic music scene. His consistency and zest for his craft is contagious. He is one of the few DJs and producers, where one can listen to his entire show front to back, without getting bored or tired. The musical variety was quite eclectic.

His new remixes of “Long Way Home” are available on iTunes.

The Verdict

Overall, Gareth Emery was able to electrify Marquee New York with his captivating electronic tracks for two hours. The sold-out audience could not help but sing along to them at the top of their lungs. Well done. His live concert at Marquee garnered an A rating.
