Their set included such classics as “Gypsy,” as well as “Say You Love Me” and “Over My Head.” They immediately broke into the first side of the Rumours album, starting off with “Second Hand News,” and the fan-favorite “Dreams,” featuring Hillary Epstein’s lilting vocals, where the listener could recall Stevie Nicks.
Fleetwood Macked continued with “Never Going Back Again,” and they picked up the pace with the optimistic “Don’t Stop.” They also had a great deal of fun on “Go Your Own Way” and the Christine McVie-penned “Songbird.”
They also introduce the second side of the Rumours album to the Wantagh audience with such classics as “The Chain,” “You Make Loving Fun,” “I Don’t Want to Know,” Christine McVie’s “Oh Daddy” and the Stevie Nicks-penned “Gold Dust Woman.”
Of course, they threw in such heavyweight hits as the timeless Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty duet “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” “Rhiannon,” as well as “Landslide,” which Hillary described as “one of the best songs ever written,” and rightfully so.
The Verdict
Overall, Fleetwood Macked gave yet another solid performance on Long Island, thus proving that they are the ultimate Fleetwood Mac tribute band in New York. This concert was living proof that their legacy album Rumours will stand the test of time, similar to Carole King’s Tapestry and Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Their show garnered two thumbs up.
