Acclaimed British actress Emma Samms, MBE, was recently spotlighted in Maurice Benard’s MB “State of Mind” podcast on mental health.
She is known for playing Holly Sutton on “General Hospital,” and for her role as Fallon Carrington Colby on the primetime drama “Dynasty.” She also played Amanda Vardalis on the British soap opera “Doctors.”
Samms is the co-founder of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. For over 30 years, it has helped children and their families find hope after a child is diagnosed with a serious illness.
She opened up about her battle with long COVID, and being back on the hit ABC daytime drama “General Hospital,” which is her first acting in 2.5 years. “It was an honor to have Emma Samms on ‘State of Mind’,” Benard said.
“I watched her on ‘General Hospital’ before I even decided to become an actor. We discussed mental health, Covid, Long Covid, marriage, Tony Geary, ‘General Hospital,’ ‘Dynasty,’ and many other things. She’s a class act,” he acknowledged.
She is the epitome of grace, elegance, valor, and courage. Their entire informed conversation may be seen below.
“Such respect for the lovely. Maurice Benard and his #StateofMind podcast. Shining a much-needed light on mental health in such a comfortable and accessible way. Bravo,” Samms posted on social media.
