The motion picture follows a struggling mother (Emily Hampshire) who is abandoned by her family and partner after a horrific incident.
As she falls further into isolation, she begins to be haunted by a sinister entity that is determined to make her relive her darkest moments. This horror pic delves into the darker side of motherhood.
Hampshire’s character’s conflicting rapport with François Arnaud’s character allows for more resonance.
Hampshire’s acting performance in “Mom” runs the gamut, and it is unlike anything she has ever done previously. She builds the character from within, which at times can be disturbing and uncomfortable to watch. It feels like watching the “Scream” franchise all over again, and she is our Neve Campbell.
