Her album opens with an ambient introduction and it is followed by the upbeat yet atmospheric “Aftertaste.” “Something In The Way You Move” has an infectious beat that will make the listener get up and dance. “Keep On Dancin'” features Goulding’s crystalline voice and neat whistling backing vocals. Her single “On My Mind” is taking over the radio airwaves, and rightfully so.
“Around U” is extremely radio-friendly, with its catchy hooks. “Codes” also has the potential to become a single at some point in the future. “Holding On For Life” is a gorgeous piano-driven ballad, and “Love Me Like You Do” is easily the highlight track on the album, especially due to its popularity from Fifty Shades of Grey.
“Don’t Need Nobody” is more mellow and laid-back and “Don’t Panic” has an optimistic message to it, due to its vivacious lyrics. “We Can’t Move To This” is sassy and a great deal of fun. “Lost And Found” is up-tempo and melodically stunning. It closes with “Outside,” her smash electronic collaboration with Calvin Harris.
The Verdict
Overall, Ellie Goulding charms on her latest album Delirium. She is one of those songstresses in music that can do no wrong from a vocal standpoint. There are no filler tracks on this CD. It garners 5 out of 5 stars. Congratulations Ellie.
