On October 22, global music star El Alfa headlined Madison Square Garden in New York City with a spectacular, sold-out performance. Digital Journal has the recap.

Dembow music was alive more than ever at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” thanks to El Alfa, who is the pride of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was joined by an all-star lineup that included J Balvin, Farruko, Fernando Villalona, Kiko El Crazy, DJ Adonis, El Cherry Scom, Mark B, Shelow Shaq, Axel Rulay, and Tali Goya. Everybody was gifted in their own right, and they all brought something unique to the show and iconic venue.

He kicked off his show with “Banda De Camion” and “4K,” where he instantly lured his audience in. The vibe was intense, he managed to get all the cultures involved and he brought different artists to perform popular hits.

The first performer that he brought on stage with him was Dominican merengue singer Fernando Villalona, and he received an enormous, raucous response for “Dominicano Soy.”

Farruko joined him on “Pepas” and “Curazao,” and El Cherry Scom “La Mamá de la Mamá,” where concertgoers went wild for El Cherry Scom since he just got here from the Dominican Republic this week for the very first time.

Another fan-favorite performance was “Mueve La Cadera” with Kiko El Crazy. He nailed hit after hit the entire evening, and the crowd was in total awe of his natural charisma.

The Verdict

Overall, El Alfa was superb at Madison Square Garden, and he was able to take his audience on a liberating journey. He had the New York audience with him every step of the way, and his show was upbeat, enthralling, and vivacious.

His vocals were sultry and infectious, and the show’s production and dancing were remarkable. He is highly recommended seeing live, and there is something in it for everyone.

El Alfa was the epitome of grace, class, and humility, and he embodied the heart and soul of dembow music. His concert helped provide an escape during the trying times that the world is going through.

Most importantly, El Alfa was able to develop and redefine dembow music into what it is today, all while moving his audience on both an emotional and spiritual level. His live set at The Garden garnered an A rating. Well done.
