Rising country artist EJ Vickers charms on his brand new radio single “I Love You,” which was release just in time for Mother’s Day.
While Vickers may be a newcomer to the country music scene, he exudes a great deal of talent, and his single “I Love You” sounds very promising. It is dedicated to mothers everywhere.
It is a neo-traditional country ballad, and it ought to be enjoyed for its beauty, honesty, and simplicity. It has a lot of meaning to it, and it puts most of the songs on the contemporary country radio airwaves to shame.
Vickers hails from Cross Plains, Indiana, and he shared that this tune holds a special place in his heart, and rightfully so, as Mother’s Day is celebrated this weekend in the U.S.
Particularly impressive is that it was co-produced by Country Music Hall of Famer Teddy Gentry, the co-founder of the iconic country band Alabama.
The lyrics are raw, warm, and relatable, and it would make the quintessential Mother’s Day theme song. It is evident that he has an old soul.
Vickers picked up the guitar at age of three, and his father taught him four chords. Ever since, he has yet to put down the guitar. As a third generation musician, Vickers grew up watching his dad perform at local concerts in Indiana.
Presently, with his breakthrough single “I Love You,” and support from Alabama’s Teddy Gentry, Vickers hopes to make his mark.
Vickers will be performing at the 2023 CMA Fest in Nashville on the Spotlight Stage on Friday, June 9.
