Review: EC Twins throw awesome electronic music party at Lavo in NY (Includes first-hand account)

Their DJ set began promptly at 1 a.m. and it began in an ambient fashion. Their energy level was infectious and throughout the night, Allister and Marc ordered their fans to get their hands up in the air.

They paid homage to Calvin Harris and Disciples with “How Deep Is Your Love,” and they took their fans on a trip down memory lane with a splendid remix of Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars.” Equally noteworthy was their atmospheric remix of Adele’s chart-topper “Hello.”

EC Twins had the audience singing along with them on Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” and it was followed by a remix of the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” and the highlight track was Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill in Ibiza,” as well as Tove Lo’s “(Habits) Stay High,” both of which rounded out their set.

The Verdict

Overall, Marc and Allister of EC Twins were born to entertain. They had the Lavo crowd in the palm of their hands, and their female fans could not get enough of them. Their set was upbeat and vivacious. They earned an A for a job well done.
