The music video is monochromatic with a timeless, classic country vibe to it. Parton’s vocals are piercing and as captivating as ever, and they compliment Henley’s velvet voice quite well. The steel guitar solo helps elevate it to a higher level. It was directed by Daniel Pearl and released on Capitol Records.
Henley and Parton pay a moving homage to The Louvin Brothers, especially since it is their song. It is a track on his latest country music album, Cass County.
This duet is not new for Parton. Throughout her illustrious career in country music, Parton used to perform “When I Stop Dreaming,” with her late duet partner, Porter Wagoner.
