Review: David Cook captivates on rocking new single ‘Criminals’ (Includes first-hand account)

It is a track from his upcoming studio album, Digital Vein, which will be out in mid-September.

Cook co-wrote “Criminals” with fellow songwriter Blair Daly. It has a retro rock vibe to it and a vintage feel, that will resonate well with his listening audience. He nails the high notes on this tune, while showcasing his wide range as a recording artist.

“Spotlights tracing our every move, Hearts race, breathless and bulletproof, I’ll hold you, won’t let anybody hurt you,” Cook sings.

The Verdict

Overall, David Cook proves yet again to be a true force to be reckoned with. He is such an underrated musician in the industry, however, if this new single is any indication of the quality of his forthcoming studio album, then listeners, fans and critics will be in for a real treat. “Criminals” garners an A rating.
