Review: Darlene Love wows on signature holiday classic on ‘The View’

This marks Love’s second consecutive year performing the smash hit on The View, after she previously sang it for well over two decades on The Late Show with David Letterman. The co-hostesses of The View, which included Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Jedediah Bila and Whoopi Goldberg, served as her background vocalists.

Towards the end of the song, Love was joined by multi-Grammy winner Patti LaBelle for an epic finale, which featured LaBelle’s trademark whistle register.

Love will be performing this smash hit live at B.B. King Blues Club in the heart of New York City on December 23, 26, as well as on January 7, 2017.

The Verdict

Overall, Darlene Love delivered another powerful performance of her signature holiday tune “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” She earned two giant thumbs up for a job well done.
