Review: Country star John King charms on new ‘On Your Lips’ EP (Includes first-hand account)

His EP was released on his record label, Black River Entertainment. It opens with his brand new single, the country-rock tune and title track “On Your Lips,” which garnered a glowing review from Digital Journal.

It is followed by his breathtakingly beautiful ballad and debut single, “Tonight Tonight (Best Night of Our Lives),” which is sheer perfection. It is the quintessential wedding tune and King knocks it out of the park.

“Baseball Cap” is another neat, upbeat tune, that will resonate well with listeners of modern country music. “Something in the Water” is an autobiographical song about his native Georgia, which ought to be released as a single at some point in the future, especially since there is a plethora of esteemed country stars from Georgia these days on the radio airwaves.

It closes with upbeat and spitfire “Let Your Hair Down,” where he leaves his country fans wanting to hear more.

The Verdict

John King rocks on his new country EP. It is a solid studio effort from start to finish. The songs are warm and eclectic, especially since each track has its own identity. His future in country looks very promising. It garners an A rating.
