Swindell kicked off his set with the rocking “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” and it was followed by the mid-tempo “Up” and the carefree party tune “Brought to You by Beer.”
His expressive performance of “Middle of a Memory” was sheer perfection, where everybody’s cell phones were lit up, as blue lights dimmed from the stage. “I need to find me a dancing partner,” Swindell said, midway through the song, and he gave “Dierks” a plug in his chart-topping song. “Y’all this is a memory tonight,” Swindell said, graciously. “It’s the night of my life every time I get to step on the stage, and sing my songs for you all. Thank you all for letting me party with you tonight.”
“Who’s ready to get laid back and lazy?” he asked, and he immediately sang his infectious breakthrough single “Chillin’ It,” prior to breaking our hearts with the poignant ballad “You Should Be Here.” After “Chillin’ It,” he expressed his gratitude to his fans for having his back since day one and for allowing him to do what he loves to do.
Equally fun was “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey,” which instantly got the listeners in the patriotic spirit.
“Let Me See Ya Girl” was a great deal of fun, as red lights dimmed from the stage. “Let’s get this place rocking,” Swindell said. He incorporated “Let Me See Ya Girl” with a medley of The Chainsmokers’ “Closer,” as he had the fans jumping along. He took the time to shake people’s hands during this upbeat performance. “You look good, you sound good,” he shouted.
Swindell also returned during Bentley’s set, where they performed a duet of his latest radio single “Flatliner.”
The Verdict
Overall, Cole Swindell’s gracious personality and upbeat hits took over the PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey. He had the New Jersey audience with him every step of the way, and was able to create a lasting “memory” with his fans in the East Coast. His live show garnered an A rating.
