On May 3rd, country star Cody Johnson brought his “Leather Deluxe” Tour to Credit One Stadium, where he performed for a great turnout.

Johnson kicked off his set with “That’s Texas” and immediately broke into “Me and My Kind” and took his audience on a trip down memory lane with his first single “Dance Her Home.” He interacted well with his audience, and he made them feel at home.

He also delivered a stirring version of “Dear Rodeo” sans Reba McEntire.

Johnson tipped his hat to the late but great Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels with “Long Haired Country Boy,” which was well-received.

Equally noteworthy were the follow-ups “Human,” “Georgia Peaches,” “The Fall,” and “People in the Back.”

Johnson performed “I’m Gonna Love You,” his soaring duet with country songstress Carrie Underwood (where she was incorporated in the show with help of modern technology).

The whole audience sang the patriotic “God Bless America” with him, and the response was enthralling

After performing his chart-topper “Til You Can’t,” Johnson closed with a cover of the poignant “Travelin’ Solider,” whose subject matter is timely and relevant in this day and age, as well as “Diamond in My Pocket” where he left his audience wanting to hear more.

The only downside was that he didn’t perform his cover of Reba McEntire’s “Whoever’s in New England,” but all of the other songs he did more than made up for it.
