Review: Chris Carmack from ‘Nashville’ soars on new ‘Pieces of You’ EP (Includes first-hand account)

His EP opens with the smooth, acoustic ballad “Being Alone,” which has a bluesy feel to it. The song is about a young person’s struggle to find their own identity, while trying to adhere to the expectations of the people around them.

It is followed by the mid-tempo “Can’t Do It Again,” where his mellow vocals are slightly reminiscent of country mega-star Keith Urban.

Equally impressive is the follow-up track “What Has Changed,” while “Always Mine” is a gentle and delicate vocal performance by Carmack. The album closes with the sultry title track ballad “Pieces of You.”

The Verdict

Overall, Chris Carmack showcases a great deal of talent in this new EP. While it only consists of five tracks, they are all diverse, and they display his wide range as a recording artist. It garners 4 out of 5 stars.
