Review: Chloé Caroline releases beautiful ‘One Left Standing’ EP (Includes first-hand account)

This project was recorded and produced in Nashville, where she worked with her producer Josh Dunahoo.

The EP opens with the upbeat and fun “Outta My Head,” where the listener can recall such country songstresses as RaeLynn meets Miranda Lambert. This refreshing vocal is followed by the ballad “Leavin’ You Now,” which changes the pace of her EP. The title track “One Left Standing” is more spitfire, while “Daddy’s Song” is a poignant and heartfelt ballad that she wrote as a freshman in her dorm room in college. It closes with the soothing ballad “Givin Love a Chance,” which features her crystalline vocals.

Caroline wrote all of the songs on her EP, with “Leavin’ You Now” as her only co-write. ”She had moved to Nashville in 2012, in an effort to pursue her songwriting career. She is a full-time student at Belmont University, while she is working part-time at the record label, Black River Entertainment.

The Verdict

Chloé Caroline is one Nashville up-and-coming songstress that should have a bright future ahead of her. Her songs are so personal to her, that many relate can find themselves relating to them as well, especially “Daddy’s Song.” While this EP consists of only five tracks, her bubbly personality is clearly displayed. It garners 4 out of 5 stars.
