It opens with the upbeat and spitfire, rocking title track “Reverie,” and it is followed by the hypnotic “Inner You,” which will put the listener in a rock trance. “Is It Day or Night” has a catchy, sing-along chorus to it, while her vocals are reminiscent of Debbie Harry from Blondie, which should be taken as a compliment. “Shades of Me” is a well-crafted duet ballad with her son, Jake Hays. In “Queen Of The Asphalt Jungle,” the listener can recall rock queen Joan Jett.
“American Nights” is a nonchalant party anthem, that Currie simply nails. “Dark World” has an eerie mood to it, in a subtle and haunting vocal performance. The highlight track on the album is “Believe” thanks to its superb orchestral arrangement, where her vocals are reminiscent of Melissa Etheridge. “I’m Happy” is yet another top-notch autobiographical ballad that Currie crushes. It closes with the inspirational and liberating “Another Dream.”

The Verdict
Cherie Currie proves that she is able to rock out on her new album, and simultaneously have fun doing so. She keeps it real and is not afraid to display her versatility and range as an artist. This CD garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
