Review: Chatting with Disco Unlimited at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall (Includes interview)

On returning for Mulcahy’s, for yet another show, Sista Soul said, “We love it here. There is something about the energy here at Mulcahy’s, and people love it.”

Their favorite songs to perform live include “Young Hearts Run Free” and Thelma Houston’s “Don’t Leave Me This Way.” Another stand-out song to sing live is “Relight My Fire” for band member Joe Cool.

Regarding their future plans, Joe Cool said, “I would love to just play bigger and bigger shows.”

One of their proudest moments included singing with disco queen France Joli, especially since growing up, they used to sing “Come to Me” whenever they heard it on the radio. “Singing back-up with her was amazing. France is the sweetest and the nicest person. We love her. She is just so real, kind and generous,” they said.

Their greatest musical influences include Nile Rodgers of Chic, Donna Summer, France Joli and The Bee Gees. “Donna was the queen, and France’s music had a lot of soul,” Sista Soul said.
