On October 16, Emmy award-winning actors Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith of “Days of Our Lives” participated in a virtual fan event for Spectrum Celebrity Events. Digital Journal has the recap.
It was hosted by Tony Moore from “Dishin’ Days,” and a part of the proceeds go towards True Colors United, which implements innovative solutions to youth homelessness that focus on the unique experiences of LGBTQ young people.
Massey plays Will Horton on “Days of Our Lives,” while Freddie Smith was known for his portrayal of Sonny Kiriakis. Their fans affectionately call them “WilSon.”
Career-defining moments
Regarding his career-defining moments, Massey said, “For me, I really think the Will and Sonny love story is the defining moment in my career, where Freddie and I got to develop these two characters.”
“That was definitely my biggest moment, as well as my most challenging one and most meaningful,” Massey added.
“Getting the opportunity to work on ‘Days of Our Lives’ was a defining moment for me, especially to be a part of a storyline that is so important. That has defined my life in a really wonderful way thanks to all of the love and support that has been around it,” Freddie Smith said.
“The ability to work in the acting world for nine to 10 years straight, in this kind of volume, has been really crazy. Chandler and I have probably filmed more scenes than Robert De Niro in his career. The volume of the work has just been awesome, I am very grateful. When somebody calls me, I answer to both Sonny and Freddie,” Smith added.
Success
Massey defined the word success as “being happy doing something that makes me happy, and is not hurting someone else.”
“Success is choosing to be happy regardless of what is going on in life,” Massey added.
On his definition of the word success, Smith said, “Success is doing something that I love with people that I love, and also being productive.”
“Being productive is connected to happiness and success. I try to be productive, happy, and successful as many days of the year as possible,” Smith added.
