Actors Chandler Massey (“Days of Our Lives”) and Eva Bourne star in their new Hallmark holiday film “A ’90s Christmas.”

Marni Banack directed from a screenplay by Ryan Peckinpaugh.

The synopsis is: A workaholic lawyer destined to spend Christmas alone is transported back to 1999 after an unexpected run in with a particularly wise rideshare driver.

Eva Bourne is effervescent as Lucy while Chandler Massey is suave and delightful as Matt. The ’90s references in the story are quite clever.

Their affecting rapport allows for more resonance. Katherine Barrell (“Wynonna Earp” fame) is memorable as Grace. The supporting cast of actors is noteworthy in their own right. There is something in this movie for the entire family.

The Verdict

Overall, “A ’90s Christmas” is a sweet, heartwarming and upbeat new holiday rom-com. Chandler Massey and Eva Bourne are sensational in their leading roles, and the film, as a whole, ought to be enjoyed for its beauty, authenticity, and simplicity.

By the time it is over, the audience will sense a feeling of ’90s nostalgia, and that is a real treat. “A ’90s Christmas” is worth checking out, and it garners four out of five stars. Well done.
