Her album opens with the mid-tempo, yet ambient “Run Away With Me,” and it is followed by the catchy title track tune “Emotion,” both of which instantly lure the listener in. It is followed by her infectious radio single “I Really Like You,” while the songstress showcases her atmospheric voice on “Gimmie Love.”
“All That” is a well-crafted, slow-moving ballad, and she picks up the pace with “Boy Problems,” which is a song that many of her female listeners can relate to. It is followed by “Making The Most Of The Night” and the soaring track “Your Type.”
“Let’s Get Lost” has a liberating vibe to it, and “LA Hallucinations” is equally noteworthy. “Warm Blood” has a neat pulsating beat to it, and “When I Needed You” has an electro-pop vibe to it. “Black Heart” displays her wide range as a recording artist.
It closes with the lilting “I Didn’t Just Come Here To Dance” and the laid-back “Favourite Colour.”
Jepsen will be performing at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island on March 26, 2016, as part of her “Gimmie Love” tour, presented by 106.1 BLI.
