“Bupkis,” starring Pete Davidson, is an enticing new comedy series on the streaming service Peacock.

It was co-created, written, and executed produced by Pete Davidson, and this half-hour live-action comedy a heightened and fictionalized version of Pete Davidson’s actual life.

The synopsis is: “Bupkins” follows Pete Davidson’s life, combining grounded storytelling with some absurd elements from the worldview for which Davidson is well known.

A world-renowned comedian, Davidson is navigating his surreal life as he attempts to balance family, career, friends, the tabloids and his own conscience.

Emmy winner Edie Falco (“The Sopranos”) stars as Amy, Pete’s mother, while Oscar winner Joe Pesci portrays his grandfather Joe Larocca.

A wide range of guest stars appear in neat and clever cameos. These guests include Jon Stewart, Ray Romano, Steve Buscemi, Jane Cutain, Machine Gun Kelly, Sebastian Stan, and Al Gore, among others.

Strong performances from the entire cast led by Pete Davison give this series its beating heart as it takes us all on an emotional journey about the highs and lows of Davidson’s life. The characters in this series feel honest and well-rounded.

“Bupkis” is witty, poignant, earnest, and heartwarming, all in one. It will sustain the audience’s attention for its entire duration. It deserves to be a major contender at the upcoming Emmy Awards for the acting, writing, and direction.

Viewers will be drenched in a wide spectrum of raw emotions. There is something in it for everybody, and it is worth more than just a passing glance. “Bupkis” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
