Brothers Osborne’s album opens with the laid-back “Dirt Rich,” which has a traditional country vibe to it, and it immediately breaks into the calming, acoustic ballad “21 Summer.” It is followed by their catchy radio single “Stay a Little Longer,” which is destined to top the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts within a week or so.
The title track “Pawn Shop” has a neat groove to it, featuring their rich, baritone vocals, while “Rum” is another radio-friendly tune, which was a prior single for the duo. “Loving Me Back” is the highlight track on the album, since it is a traditional country ballad, with Grammy-winning country singer Lee Ann Womack on soaring harmonies.
“American Crazy” has a patriotic vibe to it and it is an instrumental masterpiece, which deserves to be a single at some point in the future. “Greener Pastures” is the quintessential tune to sing along to, while “Heart Shaped Locket” has swagger and a country-rock edge to it. Their CD closes with the unapologetic tune, “It Ain’t My Fault.”
