Review: Britney Spears returns with all her ‘Glory’ on new album (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the infectious yet delicate “Invitation,” and it is followed by her smash lead single “Make Me…” where she collaborates with rapper G-Easy. “Private Show” was more laid-back and sexy, while “Man On The Moon” was hypnotic, and it would make a good choice for a future radio single.

“Just Luv Me” has a neat message to it, coupled with its electro-pop vibe. Spears‘ “Clumsy” is one of those songs that will make the listener get up and dance. “Do You Wanna Come Over?” is flirty and uplifting.

“Slumber Party” is a little unfiltered and vituperative, but she more than makes up for it with “Just Like Me,” which is autobiographical in its nature. “Love Me Down” is seductive, and it shows the songstress rapping. It closes with “Hard To Forget Ya” and with the spitfire “What You Need,” which is slightly reminiscent of Jessie J and Ariana Grande’s “Bang Bang.”

Glory is available on iTunes.

The Verdict

Overall, Britney Spears is back with an irresistible new studio album. She showcases tremendous growth and maturity on this project, and it is evident that she was born to make her fans happy. Glory garners four out of five stars.
