Review: Brian McKnight soothing on sultry new ballad ‘Better’ (Includes first-hand account)

Better” is a gorgeous, autobiographical love ballad which he penned in honor of his girlfriend. It is quite refreshing to hear new music from McKnight, and this song has warm lyrics that his fans and listeners can easily relate to.

It is the title track from his upcoming studio album, which will be out on Feb. 26 via Kobalt Label Services, as well as the follow-up to its lead-off single “Uh Oh Feeling.”

Throughout his respected career in the music industry, McKnight has earned 16 Grammy nominations, and he has sold well over 25 million albums. He has collaborated with such noteworthy artists as Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Quincy Jones and Justin Timberlake.

The Verdict

Overall, Brian McKnight’s voice is still smooth as silk. He is one of those musicians that only gets “better” with age. “Better” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars, and it is a substantial indication that his forthcoming studio album should be promising.
