Review: Brian Justin Crum fantastic on ‘America’s Got Talent’ audition (Includes first-hand account)

The control Brian Justin Crum maintained over his vocals on “Somebody to Love” was absolutely incredible, as he showcased both his soft side and his tremendous lung power as he hit the high notes. His voice is slightly reminiscent of Grammy-nominated pop star Adam Lambert, who is currently fronting the band Queen, and that ought to be taken as a major compliment.

He brought his mother with him in the audience, who always stood there by his side through his difficult times as a kid. Crum is originally from San Diego, California.

Crum’s performance was genuine and poignant, and he was able to convince the crowd that the song’s optimistic lyrics were meaningful to him. It is no wonder that he received a standing ovation from the audience and all four judges, including the ever-critical Simon Cowell.

The Verdict

Overall, Brian Justin Crum was outstanding on his version of “Somebody to Love.” He took a risk by taking on a Queen song, yet he was able to do them justice. He sang with a lot of heart and charisma, and he deserves to go very far in the America’s Got Talent competition, if not win it entirely. He earned an A+ for an excellent audition.
