Review: ‘Boy Band’ alum Andrew Butcher serenades fans to ‘What Is’ (Includes first-hand account)

His bittersweet music video captures the essence of the tune, where it displays what “love really means,” and it tries to furnish a definition for what love may truly be. “What Is” ought to be enjoyed for its beauty and simplicity.

The song is a track on Butcher’s debut EP Everything and More, which was released this past April. It was co-penned by songwriters Hunter Leath, Eric Varnell, and Jessa Taylor. The song’s music video was directed by Lexy Kadey, and it is extremely well done.

“What Is” by Andrew Butcher is available on iTunes and on Spotify.

As a finalist on the ABC television competition series Boy Band this past summer, Butcher made it to the Top 12. Ever since, the teenage musician moved to Nashville, where he collaborated with some of the leading producers and songwriters in the contemporary music industry.

The Verdict

Overall, Andrew Butcher delights in his new music video for “What Is.” It has a sweet, poignant message to it, and that will resonate well with his fans and listeners. He showcases a great deal of talent. “What Is” garners an A rating.
