“Bluey’s Big Play” was an enchanting production, which took place from November 18 to 20 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in the heart of New York City.
When dad feels like a little bit of Sunday afternoon time out, Bluey and Bingo have other plans. They were able to pull out all of the games and cleverness at their disposal to get Dad off that bean bag.
“Bluey’s Big Play” is a refreshing brand new theatrical adaptation of the Emmy award-winning children’s television series, with an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, and new music by Bluey composer, Joff Bush.
The puppets are all noteworthy and they resonated well with the young audience. The creators were able to balance the technical aspects of the production with its warm and sincere storytelling. The set changes are neat and it has a touching message to it.
Kudos to director Rose Myers for bringing this play to life from animation. The cast and crew did an impressive job. The musical score by Joff Bush is stirringly beautiful.
Most importantly, this show is a celebration of family and play, which are significant things about life that people take for granted. “Bluey’s Big Play” is ideal for all the family members, and an unforgettable theatrical experience to share with the young people in your life.
