Review: Blake Shelton back with incredible new duet ‘Lonely Tonight’ (Includes first-hand account)

“Lonely Tonight” was co-written by songwriters Brent Anderson and Ryan Hurd, and released as a single on Warner Music Nashville. The song is a track on Shelton’s latest studio album, Bringing Back the Sunshine. It is already in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, with the potential to climb higher.

Shelton’s baritone vocals are rich and heartfelt. Monroe’s gorgeous and angelic harmonies elevate the song to a higher level. Their vocals blend well together and produce a true musical event, that ought to receive some recognition at a future country music awards ceremony.

“I don’t wanna be right, I don’t wanna be strong, I just wanna hold you ’til the heartbreak’s gone,” they sing.
