Review: Billy Grima releases mellow ‘Pleasure To Have Met You’ single (Includes first-hand account)

Grima wrote the music and lyrics of “Pleasure to Have Met You” himself. It was subsequently produced, mixed and mastered by Pete Swann at Attitude Productions Studio in Aurora, Ontario. It has a catchy and laid-back beat, and his velvet vocals are reminiscent of such musicians as Jason Mraz meets the early work of rock star Billy Joel (“We Didn’t Start The Fire”).

“I need you baby, you drive me crazy. It sure feels good,” he sings.

A gifted singer-songwriter, Grima hails from Caledon Hills of Ontario, Canada. He was born in Australia and started songwriting at a young age. He got his start singing in his church choir at only eight years old. Fast forward seven years later, Grima moved to Canada and he settled in Toronto.

Throughout his career in music, he has released three studio albums, which include I’m Just Standing, A Little Piece Of Heaven, as well as his latest studio effort, Sugar & Cream. His music encompasses elements of pop, rock, soul, roots, adult contemporary and even Americana, proving that he is a very versatile recording artist.

The Verdict

Billy Grima’s new single “Pleasure To Have Met You” earns 4 out of 5 stars. It is a fun and upbeat tune, with strong melodies. Radio stations should give this Canadian artist more than a passing glance. For more information on Canadian singer-songwriter Billy Grima, check out his official website.
