Global pop music star Billie Eilish has a major reason to celebrate. She was the biggest winner of the 2025 American Music Awards, which were held at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

Billie Eilish wins big

Billie Eilish — who was the second most nominated artist of the evening — won in all seven categories that she was nominated in.

These included wins for “Artist of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Favorite Touring Artist,” “Favorite Female Pop Artist,” “Favorite Pop Album,” and “Favorite Pop Song.”

Eilish was not in attendance at this year’s AMA ceremony, and neither was Taylor Swift, who received multiple nominations (but didn’t win any categories).

Grammy-nominated pop artist Benson Boone brought his high-adrenaline, dynamic style to the American Music Awards stage for the first time with a performance of “Mystical Magical” from his forthcoming studio album “American Heart,” and as expected, it featured his signature flips.

The 2025 American Music Awards winners were voted entirely by the fans. The nominees were based on key fan interactions – as reflected on the Billboard charts – including streaming, album and song sales, radio airplay and tour grosses.

Jennifer Lopez hosts and performs

Latin music superstar Jennifer Lopez returned as host of the American Music Awards for the first time in a decade. She kicked off the show in spectacular fashion, delivering a non-stop, breathtaking medley of 23 of the year’s biggest hits with her signature dance moves.

Sir Rod Stewart was bestowed the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the American Music Awards, and he closed out the evening with a performance of his classic hit “Forever Young.”

Janet Jackson received the Icon Award, an honor bestowed upon an artist whose music has had undeniable cultural and global influence over the music industry.

The award was presented by Jennifer Lopez, who famously appeared as a backup dancer in Jackson’s 1993 music video for “That’s the Way Love Goes.”
