Big Time Rush released their latest 10-song pop album “Another Life.”
The pop boy band is made up of James Maslow, Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, and Carlos PenaVega.
The CD opens with “Can’t Get Enough,” which is reminiscent of a quintessential Jonas Brothers radio single, and it immediately breaks into the nonchalant and liberating “Waves,” as well as the playful “I Just Want To (Party All The Time).”
It continues with the breezy and mid-tempo “Weekends,” and they showcase some attitude on “Work For It.” It is followed by the sassy and unapologetic “Forget You Now” and “Brand New” has a neat groove to it.
In “Ask You Tonight,” the listener can recall the soaring harmonies of 98 Degrees. The record closes with the sultry pop tune “Superstitious” and on a deep note with the emotional title track, where they leave their listeners wanting to hear more.
The only downside is that it only features 10 tracks, where they could have easily added two or three pop tunes more on there (especially since the entire duration is less than 31 minutes long).
Other than that, “Another Life” is a solid and cohesive musical effort by Big Time Rush, where each tune has its own identity.
The pop group is out touring as part of their “Can’t Get Enough” headlining tour, and fans can hear the new songs while Big Time Rush is out on the road.
On August 11th, they will be performing at Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California.
