Beauty School Dropout have released “Freak,” their soaring new pop-rock collaboration with JXDN.
They joined forces with singer-songwriter and social media influencer JXDN, and the result is a fun pop bop. It is upbeat and a great deal of fun coupled with a retro emo-punk vibe, which makes it infectious (and impossible to get out of the listener’s mind).
This band is based in Los Angeles, and they formed in 2020. They are responsible for coining the term “Renegade Pop” and rightfully so. Their music blends such genres as indie, pop, rock, punk, emo, alternative, and even hip hop.
“Freak” was written by band members Colie Hutzler, Bardo Novotny, Brent Burdett, and Jaden Hossler (better known as JXDN). The lyrics are warm, relevant, and relatable; moreover, it deserves to be the pop-rock ode of spring and summer due to its nonchalant and liberating vibe.
Beauty School Dropout consists of lead vocalist Colie Hutzler, drummer Mike Rose, and bassist Brent Burdett, all of which made up the alt-rock group Strangefaces.
The evolution of the band began with what was Hutzler’s solo project. As he teamed up with producer Bardo Novotny to shape the sound, former bandmates Mike and Brent followed soon after to join the collaborative process.
This summer, Beauty School Dropout will be performing festivals in Europe as part of their tour. Also, they are touring with JXDN, and bringing their new music to the fans.
“Freak” is worth more than just a passing glance, and it is available on digital service providers.
