The EP opens on a soothing note with “Christmas Lullaby,” and it is followed by a stunning acoustic rendition of “The First Noel,” which is simply divine. Equally charming is their upbeat, bluegrass version of Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
“I’m Going Home, It’s Christmas” is mid-tempo and uplifting, and they stay true to their mountain roots. It continues with a controlled and lilting rendition of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and it closes with a killer, banjo-driven version of “Jingle Bells.”

The Verdict
Overall, Balsam Range is superb on their brand new holiday EP, It’s Christmas Time. All six tracks are refreshing and unique. There is something in this musical effort for everybody. It garners an A rating.
