The film, directed by Stephen Kijak, was released on January 30 in the United States. They take their fans on a journey throughout the trials and tribulations of their music career, and all of the events that lead up to their 20th year anniversary “In A World Like This” tour.
They also give the viewer a glimpse of each of their hometowns. In particular, the scenes from Kevin Richardson’s hometown (where he opens up about his father), Nick Carter’s school (where he talks about his teacher and music being his saving grace) and Brian Littrell’s vocal issues will certainly move fans to tears, so a Kleenex or two would come in handy.
In this documentary, the Backstreet Boys proved to be true pioneers, who were able to go beyond the ordinary and redefine and reshape contemporary pop music into the genre it is today, and this was all done before social media, which is truly impressive.
The Verdict
