Review: Ashley Clark amazes on ‘Greyhound’ radio single (Includes first-hand account)

His voice is as smooth as silk, and his vocals are reminiscent of a country version Grammy-winning star John Mayer meets Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts. “Greyhound” has neat fiddle instrumentation, and a traditional country vibe to it.

Clark’s single is about a guy who missing his female lover who left him, and the male narrator discusses how nothing has been the same since she left, and he is thinking about her, and wants her back in his life, and one of the ways he could make that happen is by getting on a Greyhound, or fast train, or airplane.

“I need to get on an airplane, fast train, Greyhound, leave town, quit work right now, Somehow get to you, that’s what I need to do, I really need to hold you close, let you know, this is real, what I feel, I don’t want no one else,” Clark sings, in “Greyhound.”

The Verdict

Overall, Ashley Clark’s “Greyhound” is a phenomenal tune, and very radio-friendly. He sings from the heart, and allows his strong, velvet vocals to do all the talking. He is one of the most underrated musicians in the contemporary country genre, and his music deserves well more than just a passing glance. “Greyhound” garners an A rating.
