Review: Arum Rae sultry on new single ‘Wasn’t My Time’ (Includes first-hand account)

Her debut single, “Wasn’t My Time,” was produced by Ken Lewis, who has worked with such Grammy-winning artists as Kanye West and Alicia Keys. It is a track from her Loners EP, which was released on the independent record label, Secret Road Records.

Rae’s vocals on “Wasn’t My Time” are crisp, sexy and sultry, reminiscent of the late Amy Winehouse meets Duffy. It is destined to please fans of jazz, blues, R&B, soul and adult contemporary.

Throughout her career in the music industry, Rae has toured with such musical acts as BB King, Gary Clark Jr. and the Kills. Her song is going to be on the show Pretty Little Liars on August 30. This marks her second song placement on the show in the past two months, which is an impressive accomplishment.

The Verdict

Overall, Arum Rae’s “Wasn’t My Time” is a delightful recording. She is like a modern day Ella Fitzgerald, and there is nobody else like her on contemporary radio. Grab a bottle of wine and let Rae’s smooth vocals lure you in. “Wasn’t My Time” garners an A rating.
