Review: April Kry delights on new single and lyric video for ‘Fireflies’ (Includes first-hand account)

The song was co-written by songwriters Jennifer Pappas, JP Rende and Kathryn Rende. Listeners can clap along to its catchy beat. It is lyrically and sonically beautiful, that will certainly put her fans in the spring and summer spirit. Its “oh-o-o-o-oh” hooks help elevate it to a higher level. Her vocal range is wide and incredible, and the song’s melody is strong.

“Those honeysuckle days seem so far away to me, Now you name once carved in hearts up on a tree, Is deep inside of me like, Fireflies,” Kry sings.

The Verdict

Overall, April Kry’s new song “Fireflies” is uplifting and a great deal of fun, with a neat groove. Her vocals are angelic and warm, coupled with sweet lyrics. The listener can easily recall Taylor Swift meets Kimberly Perry from The Band Perry. She has the potential to make it big in Nashville, especially at a time when very few female artists are played on the country radio stations. Her “Fireflies” single garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
