It is a track from her forthcoming studio album, which will be released in the fall of 2017. “While We’re Young” was co-written by Stephanie Bentley (who penned Martina McBride’s “Concrete Angel” and Faith Hill’s “Breathe”), as well as Micah Wilshire, Jennifer Pappas and April Kry.
Her song’s music video was directed by James King, and it was filmed in Watertown, Tennessee.
Kry’s breathy vocals are reminiscent of LeAnn Rimes meets Kelsea Ballerini, and that should be taken as a compliment. The control she maintains over her voice on this tune is incredible, especially her powerhouse pipes.
The Verdict
Overall, “While We’re Young” is uplifting and fun, with a liberating vibe to it. She deserves to become the next big female country star in the genre. She can sing the phone book and she can even make that sound awesome. “While We’re Young” garners an A rating.
“While We’re Young” is available on iTunes.
