Ann and Nancy co-wrote the book themselves, and Ann served as one if its illustrators, along with Rebecca Crockett. It is a poignant story about Mama Dog, her puppy and its desire to someday catch a butterfly. The theme of perseverance, patience and a possession of a hard work ethic, are illustrated throughout this bittersweet tale. The colorful illustrations are a breath of fresh air, and they elevate the book to a higher level.
Particularly impressive about the book is that it has the lyrics of their “Dog & Butterfly” song, which was originally penned in the late 70s by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, as well as Sue Ennis.
