Acclaimed actors Andrew Walker and Nikki DeLoach chatted star in the new Hallmark mystery film “Curious Caterer: Grilling Season,” which premiered on Sunday, February 5, on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
For viewers that enjoyed their first “Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate” mystery movie, this one is bound to be a real treat and one unforgettable adventure.
The synopsis of “Grilling Season” is as follows: Professional caterer Goldy Berry (Nikki DeLoach) throws a lavish barbeque event for her childhood friend, distinguished realtor Susie Craig (Amanda May).
Later that night, she is shocked to discover that after the event concluded, Susie’s grill exploded and killed her. Goldy’s professional reputation is put under fire when people realize that she was the last one that used the grill.
On a mission to clear her name, Goldy teams up once again with detective
Tom Schultz (Andrew Walker) to figure out who was behind this mysterious explosion.
As they weed through manipulative party guests, heated gossip, and dark secrets, the suspect list grows with familiar names, ranging from business partners to ex-spouses. Goldy and Tom realize that the murderer might be closer to them than they initially imagined.
Paul Ziller directed this movie from a compelling screenplay by John Christian Plummer. It is based on the book “Grilling Season” by Diane Mott Davidson.
Andrew Walker and Nikki DeLoach are sensational once again bringing these characters to life. Jaycie Dotin, Riley Davis, and Lochlyn Munro also stand out as Marla, Mason, and Dr. Richard Korman, respectively; moreover, the entire cast is memorable, and the audience will be trying to guess the identity of the true killer the entire time. Kudos to all for a job well done.
Hopefully, this is a harbinger that there will be many more sequels in the “Curious Caterer” Hallmark mystery series. In the Hallmark world, it doesn’t get any better than Andrew Walker and Nikki DeLoach.
