On October 1, American Idol alum Alex Miller released his upbeat country single “Don’t Let the Barn Door Hit Ya” via Billy Jam Records. Digital Journal has the scoop.

The song is a breath of fresh air and it is a fast-paced Western Swing tune, where vocally, the listener can recall such country hitmakers as Easton Corbin meets Josh Turner. It has a neotraditional country vibe to it, which adds to its appeal.

The tune was produced by acclaimed Nashville songwriter and industry veteran Jerry Salley, and it was subsequently engineered by Chris Latham. It was recorded at The Gorilla’s Nest in Ashland City, Tennessee, and it features such instrumentalists as Mike Johnson on steel, Jason Roller on acoustic guitar and fiddle, Kevin Grantt on bass, Robb Tripp on drums, Dirk Johnson on the keyboard, and Brent Mason on the electric guitar.

Alex Miller’s future in the contemporary country music industry ought to be bright and promising.

“Don’t Let the Barn Door Hit Ya” is available on digital service providers by clicking here. It garners two thumbs up. Well done.
