Jauz performed right before Virtual Self and Marshmello took the stage. His one-hour set (7:20 p.m. to 8:20 p.m.) featured songs from his newest studio album, The Wise and The Wicked. These tracks included the upbeat and sassy “Gassed Up,” the psychedelic “Rave with Me,” the melodically soothing “On Fire,” the funky “Say Never,” “Super Fly,” and “Get Widdit,” among others.
Noteworthy Jauz remixes included “Propaganda” (DJ Snake), and “Fabrication” by dubstep producer Emalkay. The New York crowd at Randall’s Island Park loved Jauz. His music was quite versatile featuring elements of house, trap, dubstep and future bass.
Jauz’ breakthrough artist album, The Wise and The Wicked, was released on August 31. It is available on iTunes and on Spotify.
The Verdict
Overall, with his main stage set at “Electric Zoo: The Big 10,” Jauz proved that his recent win for “Best DJ in America” by DJ Times Magazine was based on natural talent merit. He is an artist that is not afraid to take risks with his music, and it is evident that these risks paid off. His set was upbeat, high-octane and fun, and all of the songs were eclectic with their own identities. Jauz’ show garnered two thumbs up.
