“Amber Brown” is a captivating new family series that will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, July 29.
It is based on the popular children’s book series “Amber Brown” by Paula Danziger; moreover, it was created by, written by, and directed by Bonnie Hunt, who also served as a co-executive producer.
The fabulous cast of actors includes Carsyn Rose in the title role of Amber Brown, Sarah Drew as Amber’s mother Sarah Brown, Emmy winner Darin Brooks as Max, Ashley Williams as Aunt Pam, Michael Yo as Philip, and Liliana Inouye as Brandi.
Seeing Carsyn Rose in every scene in “Amber Brown” was sensational, it was like watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly. She is precocious and reminiscent of a young Dakota Fanning (and that ought to be taken as a compliment).
Sarah Drew is also noteworthy as Amber’s divorced mother, who is now dating Max. Liliana Inouye is also a breath of fresh air as Brandi, Amber’s good friend, and sidekick
Ashley Williams and Darin Brooks were both charming and witty as Aunt Pam and Max respectively and provided comic relief in this series. Everybody brings something unique to the table. Bonnie Hunt proves to be a tremendously talented showrunner.
It is a refreshing and heartwarming series that is ideal for the entire family, and it also teaches some valuable life lessons such as the importance of communication, friendship, and family. Viewers can recall “Ted Lasso” meets “Mean Girls” meets “Lizzie McGuire.”
“Amber Brown” is worth more than just a passing glance, and it garners an A rating.
